What makes
“Papua New Guinea”
unique

Coming from Sigri & Bunum Wo estates, Papua New Guinea, this coffee undergoes a meticulous wet factory process, beginning with the careful handpicking of only ripe, red cherries to maintain the perfect balance of sweetness and acidity. After pulping, the cherries undergo a unique three-day fermentation process, with daily washing, followed by an additional day of immersion for a distinctive flavor profile. Subsequent sun-drying further enhances the beans’ flavor before careful conditioning, hulling, grading, and hand-sorting.

Sigri operates the largest coffee plantation in Papua New Guinea (PNG), spanning approximately 750 hectares across two mills: Sigri and Bunum Wo. Nestled in the Waghi Valley of the Western Highlands, Sigri’s coffee is cultivated at elevations exceeding 1,400 m.a.s.l., benefiting from the rich volcanic soil. The plantation prides itself on a commitment to organic farming practices, eschewing artificial chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides in the cultivation process.

Environmental stewardship is paramount at Sigri, with a focus on soil, water, and wildlife conservation. The plantation employs a medium-density shade strategy, utilizing specific shade trees to foster even ripening of cherries while providing habitat for over 90 species of birds.
